Unplugging for a few days
Although my participation around here has been dismal, between all the landscaping, hardwood floor refinishing, basement work, broken air conditioner, and work, I am spent. I have not had any really good things at work to write about.
We still have our issues with EMC and their Documentum licensing, so we have had some discussions and research around Sharepoint and their built in Document Libraries. But with no folder or document level security we are having some difficulty believing it can do the job.
Presently we are taking a look at having Sharepoint hold the “office” related content, and be the workflow mechanism for all “core” documents (like claims, applications,etc..). Then we can dump the processed core documents into Documentum and use it as a read-only repository (cheaper licensing).
Anyway, I need a break. I’ll hopefully have something cool soon but I am definitely unplugging for the next few days.
